14 Mag Dominga Manfredelli – 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 🌍, Centre of Excellence in Body-on-Chip Research at Tampere University (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱)

During her 6-month visiting PhD, Dr. Dominga Manfredelli, PhD candidate in Experimental Medicine and Therapies at the University of Perugia (UniPG), focused on the application of organ-on-chip technology, with a specific emphasis on a vascular model for an angiogenesis-on-chip assay. 🧬🔬

Throughout her stay, her main objective was to integrate her background in metabolic systems with the host group’s vascular organ-on-chip platform, in order to investigate if glycative stress may influence angiogenesis and vascular function.

The experience proved to be highly enriching both scientifically and personally. Beyond the laboratory, she had the unforgettable opportunity to witness the Northern Lights for the first time in her life, a truly remarkable moment that made her time in Finland even more special. 🌌✨
